Summer at last!

It is finally, and really truly summer time in Berlin, Germany!! The sun is out and the sky is blue and all is well. It was a perfect day to go on a bike ride with a friend of mine here visiting from Texas and we enjoyed how beautiful some of the trails were.

Baby is getting bigger all the time and is now trying to pull up and crawl all the time. Because she is always trying to get moving she hates being strapped into something...like a bike seat. BUT, after we got going even she was enjoying the scenery and we all got a little sun.

We had a great picnic, and afterwards Baby fell asleep while ridding again. I really need to make her a neck pillow that attaches to her shoulder straps! Her head was bouncing around and I felt terrible, so I ended up with one hand behind me to support her head while she slept until we stopped in the shade to sit on a bench next to a church originally built in the 1400's.

It surely was a beautiful day...the kind that makes you feel like you can really breath deep again, and then you throw your head back and bask your face in the sun.

It's funny how one little word can mean so much and stand for so many things. My daughter has perfected the use of the word "Ma-ma" and I could almost write a book of meanings after witnessing all of the different ways in which she uses that single word.

I love that she uses that word, and then there are also times that I almost wish that she didn't know it.

She says it when she loves me, when she is mad at me, and when she is hungry.
She uses it to say "I'm scared of that!", or "pay attention to me!".

However she uses it, it is very special- because when she says it, it's my name she says.
And it reaffirms for me how much I love being "Ma-ma".
(even if she is mad at me sometimes!)
